2023 TSUTSUMI SYRAH
Skyline Block 14

Winemaker Note:
Named for my grandmother, Yuriko Tsutsumi, this wine is a selection of my two favorite Syrah barrels from the 2023 vintage. This Syrah is special because it was aged in 100% new oak—50% American and 50% French.
The wine was made from hand-picked fruit and fermented using a combination of wild and conventional yeast. After aging in barrel, it was bottle-aged for 18 months before release.
Tasting:
Dark fruit leads, backed by fresh acidity that keeps the wine lifted and structured. Baking spice and vanilla from 100% new oak are present but integrated, giving depth without overwhelming the fruit. The tannins are firm enough to support aging, but approachable now—this is a Syrah that will continue to evolve over time.
Pairing:
Best with dishes that meet its weight and savoriness—grilled ribeye, lamb with rosemary, smoked brisket, or anything with a charred edge. It also shines with umami-driven flavors like mushroom dishes, soy-glazed meats, or even a well-built burger night with caramelized onions and aged cheddar.
