Harvest and Production

Ai Syrah brings together two distinctive vineyard sources from the Snake River Valley — Skyline and Bennett. 95% of the fruit was machine-harvested from Skyline for intensity and structure, while 5% came hand-picked from Bennett to add nuance and texture.

Fermentation used a mix of wild and conventional yeasts, with 14 to 21 days of skin contact to build richness and depth. The wine aged in a restrained oak program — a quarter new barrels overall — combining 15% new Pennsylvania oak (medium-plus toast) with second- and third-fill French oak for balance and subtle spice.

Tasting Notes

Dense yet refined, Ai opens with dark chocolate, blackberry, and roasted pecan, framed by hints of clove and dried herbs. The palate carries both power and polish — rich fruit met by structured tannins and savory spice. A long, balanced finish shows Syrah’s classic depth without heaviness.
